Peragus II was a small outer-rim planet in the Peragus system, surrounded by a field of fuel-rich asteroids and possessing an exposed core. In earlier years, Peragus’ surface was inhabited by a small mining company exploiting the planet’s large stores of natural fuel, which, while not high quality, was cheap and plentiful, and thus made a satisfactory profit. However, a stray blaster shot on the world triggered a series of gas-powered explosions that would obliterate nearly a third of the mantle and crust, the debris of which became the asteroid belt surrounding the planet, leaving the core exposed to space. Though Peragus was sanctioned as too hazardous to inhabit after the incident, the reconstructed mining facility instead settled on the surface of a larger asteroid, digging deep into its contents and exporting large sums of fuel.

History

When Telos IV was chosen for rehabilitation, Peragus was established the primary provider of fuel for Citadel Station, which required massive amounts of the substance to maintain orbit around the planet. This partnership continued until the Ebon Hawk, her hull crippled and her crew near death, drifted into the Peragus mining facility. When the facility’s staff discovered that one of the unconscious crew members was a Jedi, a schism formed between them on what was to be done with her. Secretly orchestrated by assassin droid HK-50, the entire personnel of the facility were killed by a series of staged accidents and double-crossings. When the crew member, the Jedi Exile, awoke from her kolto tank, she made her way through the facility in order to try and save the miners, and, after discovering their fate, encountering and destroying HK-50, making her way with Atton Rand and Kreia through the now-desolate Republic vessel Harbinger, and facing Darth Sion, she escaped the station with her crew, the Harbinger close behind.

As Darth Sion attempted to destroy the Ebon Hawk, as stray cannon shot hit the base of an asteroid, causing the entire field, the station, and the planet itself to erupt in a chain of explosions that would destroy everything in its wake. Though the Hawk escaped just in time, the resulting catastrophe would cause the Telos restoration project to fall into peril, as its most stable source of fuel was now gone. Because she had been blamed for the destruction of the facility and planet, the Jedi Exile persuaded Vogga the Hutt to export his fuel stores on Sleheyron during her travels to Nar Shaddaa.
