The former capital of the Infinite Empire, Lehon (also known as Rakata, Rakata Prime, and the Unknown World), was a beautiful tropic paradise, orbited by two moons, and littered with jungle islands and archipelagos occupying a large global sea after the collapse of the Rakata civilisation, and before the destruction of the Star Forge. It was the home to a species known as Rakata, a violent, war-mongering race that once used their advanced technologies and sensitivity to the Force, more specifically the Dark Side, to conquer the galaxy and enslave its people. Though some of their kind attempted to come to more peaceful agreements about their issues and tried to resurrect their once-great empire, most of them retained a bloodlust from ages past that dominated their history with tribal disagreements and war. Civilization and History Thousands of years pre-dating the conception of the first Galactic Republic, the Rakata began a conquest of the galaxy, enslaving many sentient races and establishing the Infinite Empire, which, at its peak, included 500 planets, ten billion Rakata, and over a trillion slave labourers, allowing them to create several monuments to their glory, and the Star Forge, a weapons and ships factory that ran on the nearly unlimited solar energy of the Lehon system’s sun. However, as they were building their infrastructure and testaments to their influence, a combination of slave uprisings and a deadly galactic plague forced the surviving Rakata to retreat back to their homeworld, a planet that was dominated by megacities bordering on tropic jungles. As the legacy of the Infinite Empire faded into history, the species began to fight amongst themselves, until the use of weapons of mass destruction polluted and shattered their planet and it’s continents respectively, forcing them to retreat underground, where they would devolve into tribal bands. Several thousand years later, small groups of rival tribes would venture onto the surface, and, finding it habitable, create small settlements. These settlements would, as was the typical Rakata behaviour, be involved in several small skirmishes that would prevent any outward expansion. Due to a force field around the planet that disabled the power systems of all space faring vessels, any sort of traffic from other worlds that cou Jedi Civil War – A Legacy Exploited When Darth Revan first arrived on Lehon in search of the Star Forge, he used the Force to exchange an understanding of languages between himself and the Rakata, using their trust against them to gain access to the local temple, containing the power source for the field around the planet, and the Star Forge. Promising the tribe that had secured the temple and its knowledge, the Elders, that he would destroy the Forge, Revan disabled the field and retreated to the dark factory, where he began his work to create a vast fleet of warships to pit against the Republic. The Elders, betrayed, secured the Temple once more, but the Dark Lord had already secured a way around the field. When Revan returned, stricken from amnesia with no recollection of his doings on Lehon, the Elders tasked him with rescuing an Elder from the Black Rakata tribe, lead by a Force-sensitive Rakata known only as “the One.” After entering the enclave of the Black Rakata, killing their leader, and saving the Elder, the tribe allowed Revan access to the temple once more. This time, however, Revan would keep his promise, and destroy the Star Forge once and for all. Decline – The Past is the Past Thankful for the surviving Rakata’s efforts in helping end the Jedi Civil War, the Galactic Republic sanctioned the planet as a historical site, not to be entered without permission. The debris from the final battle in orbit, and the destruction of the Star Forge, created a large field around the planet, making navigation impossible. After several years, however, access to Lehon was given freely to the public, and the Rakata were integrated into the Republic. However, due to superstitions regarding their past, the surviving race of the Infinite Empire refused to leave the planet, and eventually, due to a decreasingly diverse gene pool, they died out, leaving the system devoid of sentient life.
