The history of the Knights of the Old Republic takes approximately 4000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire. Knights of the Old Republic is based around during the Jedi-Sith war timeline where both Sith and Jedi were thriving throughout the galaxy and were at the brink of all out war against one another.

The storyline kicks off where the Mandalorian Wars between the Republic and Mandalorians had ended but with dire consequences for all sides. The Republic was weakened by the conflict despiite the late coming of the Jedi intervention. The outcome of the Mandalorian Wars resulted with a twist of two Jedi who were heroes of the Republic had betrayed them and led a war against the weakened Republic.

Knowing the risk at stake, the Jedi Council took a gamble to redeem the Jedi who led the war against the Mandalorians and find out what happened after the battle of Malachor V. The Jedi named Revan, was responsible for leading the Republic into victory against the Mandalorians and was very well known for his decisive tactics. It was said that Revan was the only Jedi who drove the Mandalorians back into the Unknown Regions but what did the Jedi discover in the Unknown Regions remained to be seen.

The Republic and Jedi Council plotted a trap to lure Revan and his followers hoping to capture the fallen Jedi hero, although the plan had succeeded under the leadership of a newly Jedi Knight named Bastila Shan. Revan's old apprentice, Malak had betrayed his own master and claim the title of Dark Lord of the Sith.  Revan was wounded severely and was close to dying while Bastila crawled over the fallen hero as she healed Revan but Revan was unconscious and needed medical treatment. Bastila rescued Revan and took the fallen Jedi hero back to Republic space after narrowly escaped the firepower of Malak's flagship pounded his former master's command ship and destroyed it, leaving no trace but sparing Bastila and the Republic for another day.

The game gives you the opportunity to experience how the history of Revan and Malak's adventure had led them to the dark side, after escaping Taris as a soldier and taken refuge on the planet Dantooine. Star Wars fans will hear about the Dark Lord of the Sith had been defeated by Bastila and she was a hero although with your characters appearance and age, Bastila reveals the Jedi Council that you are strong with the Force and later discover you are somewhat connected to her fate as well.

"This is where the fun begins..." quoted from Anakin Skywalker, Episode III Star Wars Revenge of the Sith

You get the chance to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi Knight where your journey takes you to the discovery of the "Star Map" and determine what the "Star Forge" was. Along the way, the player would get to explore the planets of Dantooine, Manaan, Tatooine, Kashyyyk and Korriban for more information about the Star Forge however as your journey progresses your memories start to return.

Furthermore you get to learn more about Revan and develop a mutual understanding about the characters around you. The decisions you make by interacting with your other companions that you meet in Knights of the Old Republic can vary between either light or dark side of the Force paths, also the dialogues of romancing between either Carth, Bastila and Juhani depending on your characters gender. There is a lot of exciting adventure and action in this game that makes the Knights of the Old Republic adventure complete.

The Revelation twist

If you like twists in the game, there is a breath taking moment where you get to discover the fate of Revan. Nope, not telling you.

Your fate - Join the Sith or Fight for the Light

The game gives you the opportunity to decide which path you like best, would you like to join the Sith or Fight for the Light? If you choose the path of the dark side your character will have those who will follow and those who will reject your decision. When you select the dark path you are taken up against Malak to claim the title of Dark Lord of the Sith.

If you choose the path of the light, you will have the chance to redeem the fallen and bring the Sith Lord, Darth Malak to justice.

The ending of the Knights of the Republic game is worthwhile seeing where players get the chance to fight all the way throughout the Star Forge and get to use special powers and abilities to the maximum. Overall the game is a must buy and worth enjoying for any age alike.

What is Knights of the Old Republic 2 about?

This storyline was set around five years just after the first Knights of the Old Republic game. However the player gets a hands on with playing another Jedi character who was involved in the Mandalorian Wars, you discover yourself to be on a remote mining colony somewhere in the outer rim but your connection with the Force has been severed.

The game follows the same principle of meeting new companions and getting them to follow your cause however towards the very beginning of the game you are asked about your own belief about what happened in the past about Revan's fate. The player gets the choice to choose either path of the Force that depends on your own answers about the past to a woman named Kreia who asks you about your own thoughts of the Revan-Malak war.

Your character is the Jedi Exile and you get to experience new worlds and revisit the planet Dantooine where you notice that Jedi Knight are almost extinct. Whatever your decisions you make on this game will determine the outcome of the loyalty of your other companions. In part of your journey you will discover a few twists about your companions however your main goal is to defeat the Sith Lords.

The good thing about this sequel you only get to see small part of the other characters from the first game but as to their own fates are unknown. However the ending leaves you with possible conclusions about the fate of Revan and Jedi Exile...
